About The Barefoot Treadler
I am an independent artisan who creates original fiber arts items and jewelry. My items are loom and hand woven, hand stitched, hand-spun and carefully crafted.
About my work: All of my work is done in my home studio. I use only the finest materials. I do not produce quantities of any item. Many of my creations are originals designs . Some are one of a kind, but many can be custom ordered. Take a virtual tour of my studio at Thimble Peak Studio Tour. I have lived and travelled all over the world and my work reflects the influences of the many cultures and artistic traditions which I have experienced. My studio home is in the desert Southwest and much of my art reflects this unique and beautiful environment. I call myself “the barefoot treadler” because here in this climate, I often work barefooted, treadling my loom or my spinning wheel with my bare feet. I am an active member of the Tucson Handweavers and Spinners Guild. My fiber work in weaving, basketry, beading, braiding and bandweaving as been juried by the Tuson handweavers & Spinners Guild. My basketry has also been juried by the Southern Arizona Arts Guild. Caryn W. Stedman The Barefoot Treadler |
